Donna Richens trained at Thames Valley University as a mature student and finished with distinction grades. Photography has always been a passion of hers, but something that always stayed on the backburner whilst I brought up her children. Donna worked part time in theatre industry for around 15 years, where a lot of her inspiration comes from. Pantomime in particular, with its colourful sets, dramatic, often harsh lighting. Wonderful costumes, all add to that real sense of fun and drama, which is reflected in her photographic work.

Donna works from her home in Reading, Berkshire, with portable lighting equipment which enables her to make use of various different areas of the house, and move between them with ease. Donna has a growing number of backdrops, which are different from the standard as well as various different costumes / dresses / props.
